About me
Hi, I’m Isabel.
Growing up, I wanted to be a teacher - but I also loved books, tv and film production, and theater.
I found my dream job by combining these passions as a “strategic education storyteller.”
My career has taken diverse directions: I’ve taught in classrooms in five countries, been trained in education research, learned Spanish and Portuguese, and completed Fulbright and AmeriCorps grants.
After working on the ground in teaching and research, I became a full-time communicator. I was the first and second communications hire, respectively, in two innovative education organizations, building the comms “shop” from the ground up. I’ve crafted content strategy, developed editorial calendars, written stories, launched new channels, and built tools that let diverse teams share their work with the world.
I love helping others distill complex messages, bring human stories to life, and make an impact with the audiences that they care about most.
In my free time, you’ll probably find me reading, swimming, doing puzzles of all kinds, and traveling the world.
